From Conflict to Connection
In this workshop, we will explore and practice the simple and powerful tools of Nonviolent Communication (NVC). The learning will be mostly experiential, with various activities and processes that are engaging, meaningful and at times playful. I include some information about the brain and nervous system so that participants gain a clear understanding of what is happening internally when there is conflict and of how the tools of NVC help us stay calm and respond intelligently to stressful situations.
From this workshop you will learn how to:
Work through your own triggers and strong emotions so you can participate responsibly in difficult dialogues
Translate your criticism and judgment into clear honest feedback so others are more willing to hear you
Responding to reactions from others in ways that de-escalate intensity
Build a restorative system for conflict: How to co-create structures and systems for working through conflict with your group members – community, workplace, family, etc.
