Road to Compassion

P1020918.jpg

I believe that working through trauma is one of the most courageous, meaningful, and beautiful things that humans do. With my training in psychedelic and somatic therapies, Attachment Theory, Interpersonal Neurobiology, and Nonviolent Communication, I bring a wide range of skills, knowledge, and sensitivity to my work as a PSIP therapist and PSI Instructor. I specialize in attachment trauma, PTSD, and Complex PTSD.

About

Prior to discovering Psychedelic Somatic Interactional Psychotherapy (PSIP), I worked for twelve years with various psychedelic medicines and therapies for my own healing. PSIP is now the focus of my healing work for myself and for my clients because it goes much deeper into attachment trauma and PTSD than anything else I've experienced. I am currently training as a PSIP instructor and will begin offering training for the Psychedelic Somatic Institute in 2024.

I am also a musician, storyteller, and the author of Meet Me In Hard-to-Love Places: The Heart and Science of Relationship Success. Before I became passionate about healing trauma, I was an expedition river guide and whitewater kayaker. Much of what I learned on the river and in the wilderness continues to inform my work as a trauma therapist.

                                            --------------------------------------------------------

As a white settler living on the territory stolen from the Cheam, Seabird Island, Skwah, and Kwaw-kwaw-a-pilt First Nations, I am implicated in Canada’s history of colonialism, and I am a beneficiary of the dispossession and subjugation of Indigenous peoples. I am committed to understanding and embodying the process of decolonization and cultural safety.

I believe in the equal rights of people from every walk of life and challenge myself in various ways to be inclusive and supportive of those whose rights have been consistently ignored or abused. As an ally to groups that have historically been marginalized, I am committed to Anti-racist and Anti-Oppressive practices.

I am also a singer and songwriter, videographer, interviewer, and photographer under the name The Golden Repair. Most of my songs are informed and inspired by the healing work I've done for myself and my clients. You can find my interviews and videos on my YouTube Channel.
